We recommend a gentle detergent with lanolin, specifically developed for leather and wool products. Such a detergent contributes to the longevity of your lambskin, as it has a re-greasing effect.
You might be thinking now: "Why can't I just use my ordinary wool detergent?" The answer lies in the important fatty substance, lanolin.
Lanolin is a natural fatty substance present in the wool of every lambskin. It keeps the lambskin soft and beautiful, but also helps to keep the fur clean from impurities – a practical property for the sheep when it grazes in the mountains or on a meadow.
If you wash your genuine lambskin in a washing machine, this important fatty substance will be washed away. This can cause the leather side to become dry and brittle, and the fur to look flat and matted. However, if you use a wool detergent with lanolin, the lanolin is replenished, and the fur retains its natural properties.
Unfortunately, this does not mean that your fur will look exactly the same after washing as it did before. This is precisely why we recommend washing a lambskin only as a last resort. However, with a wool detergent with lanolin, you can ensure that your fur stays clean and that you can enjoy it for a long time.

Dosage
Natures Collection's natural wool detergent with lanolin is ideal for wool, furs, and leather. For washing, we recommend a dosage of 10 ml of wool detergent per wash cycle. One bottle is therefore sufficient for about 25 washes.
