Which chair do you have?

When choosing a sheepskin for your chair, there are a few aspects you should consider.

Seat cover or a whole sheepskin?

Often the question arises whether one should choose an entire hide or rather a seat pad for the dining chair. A seat pad is a good choice if you want to enjoy the natural comfort of a real lambskin but want to forgo the voluminous look of a full hide. However, if you are looking for a statement piece in Scandinavian living style, a whole lambskin is the ideal choice.

But why not combine both? This creates a harmonious overall picture that simultaneously provides coziness and enhances the room without sacrificing comfort.

Measure yourself?

To find the right size sheepskin for your chair, you can simply take a quick measurement using this formula:

Seat depth + backrest height + 10 cm

Measure the height of the backrest and the seat and add 10–15 cm so that the sheepskin hangs slightly over the backrest. This will keep the sheepskin in place and prevent it from slipping.

For chairs with a normal backrest, we recommend a sheepskin length of 90 to 110 cm. Sometimes it can be useful to choose a length of 100 cm, depending on the seat depth and backrest height.

Chairs with high backrests

For chairs with a high backrest, we recommend a larger sheepskin. Our sheepskins from New Zealand are available in lengths of 115 and 135 cm, which are perfectly suited for such chairs.

Again, measure to ensure the sheepskin has the correct length.

Armchairs with high and low backrests

Many find that it makes sense to choose a slightly larger lambskin for their favorite armchair to create a particularly cozy experience. For armchairs with a high backrest, a double lambskin can be a good choice, as it provides a particularly comfortable seating experience on both the seat and the backrest.
