Real lambskins and sheepskins are available in numerous designs. In this collection, we present our large-format skins with a length of 100 to 120 cm, which offer significantly more surface area and length compared to the usual size of approximately 90x60 cm.

Therefore, large lambskins are particularly well-suited for chairs with high backrests, wing chairs, or generous seating furniture where the fur is intended to elegantly drape over the backrest, creating a cohesive and harmonious overall look. The fur gently conforms to the shape of the furniture, creating an inviting atmosphere with natural warmth and a Nordic character.

Dyed large lambskins – stylish accents for your interior

Many of our furs are natural, but both short-haired and long-haired lambskins from New Zealand are dyed with natural colors. This allows multiple furs in the same shade to be ideally combined – for example, on a bench in the entrance area or in the dining room.

We offer long-haired lambskins from New Zealand in the following sizes, for example:

A dyed lambskin creates a calm and uniform overall look due to its consistent coloring. However, dyeing also means that dyed furs should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as the colors can fade over time. For indoor use, however, they are an excellent choice and create targeted, stylish accents.

In addition to New Zealand lambskins, you will also find curly lambskins from Tibet, which have also been dyed with natural colors. A rug made of Tibetan lambskin in front of the sofa or at the foot of the bed adds a particularly elegant touch to the room with its elegant corkscrew curls. The typical, fine curls look luxurious and feel velvety soft at the same time, which is why this curly lambskin is a true highlight of Scandinavian-inspired living aesthetics.

Natural large lambskins

Imagine vast landscapes where the wind blows through the grass and where sheep with thick coats roam through nature. Exactly this tranquility and connection to nature is reflected in our natural lambskins.

Undyed and available in their natural coloring, our natural lambskins retain their authentic character. This also means that each skin is unique, which is why the product images serve only as a guide. Due to their natural color, these furs are also ideal for outdoor use, where they bring natural warmth.

We carry several natural lambskins, but the most popular are those from Iceland. An Icelandic sheepskin with its long, strong hairs looks particularly original and robust, and comes in white, gray, and brown color nuances. In addition, you will find the English sheepskin, which impresses with its finer, denser structure and rich brown and white tones.

If you have a preference for curly sheepskins, you must definitely look at our sheepskins from Austria. The Austrian sheepskins have large characteristic curls and show lively color gradients that alternate between light and dark nuances.

Finally, there are the lambskins from Gotland, which are something very special. These furs come from Sweden and have the finest curls, which change between different shades of gray. These furs are the most exclusive in our range, and with a Gotland sheepskin, you are guaranteed a unique natural product.

How do I recognize a real large lambskin?

The selection of lambskins is large – and even larger online. We understand that at first glance it is often not recognizable whether it is actually a real fur or an artificial fur. Therefore, we have compiled the following tips to help you:

1. Weight and structure

A real lambskin feels soft, yet strong and dense. The hairs are flexible, naturally grown, and feel pleasantly soft and not greasy.

When looking at an artificial fur, it often comes very close to the natural variant. Nevertheless, artificial furs are made of synthetic materials and often appear less lively. After only a short period of use, the fur can appear flat and sometimes leave a slightly greasy impression.

Another difference is on the back: while a real fur has a leather side, the back of an artificial fur feels more like fabric. In addition, a real fur is usually slightly heavier than its artificial alternative.

2. Ease of care

Real lambskins are characterized by their natural structure, and this naturalness is preserved over a long period of time. An important reason for this is the lanolin (wool fat) contained in the fur, which keeps the fur supple and has a certain self-cleaning power.

This wool fat is naturally not contained in artificial furs, and therefore they quickly appear dull or lose their radiance.

Thanks to lanolin, a real lambskin requires little care. Usually, it is sufficient to shake out the fur regularly and occasionally comb it with a special brush to get rid of matted areas. If your fur has straight hairs, you can also vacuum it on the lowest setting.

3. Price and origin

As always, very cheap offers should be viewed critically. Artificial furs are significantly cheaper due to their production from synthetic materials, but sometimes you can also find particularly cheap real furs. In this case, it is worth contacting the seller and asking about the origin to ensure that the animal was raised with respect for animal welfare.

Real lambskins, on the other hand, are durable, biodegradable, and sustainable, and therefore an investment that pays off in the long run. Therefore, they also have a slightly higher price.

For us, responsible use of resources and animals is central. This means that our furs are processed gently, tanned with the most natural methods possible, and treated with high-quality natural dyes.

Which lambskin fits my chair?

A real lambskin enhances almost any chair with its soft appearance and high comfort. Because nothing feels better than spending a convivial evening with friends, surrounded by the softness and warmth of a real lambskin.

But how do you choose the right lambskin for a chair?

First, consider whether the fur should only serve as a seat cover or also cover the backrest. For the pure seat, a smaller cover is often sufficient and it does not look as impressive as a regular lambskin. However, if you want to create a particularly cozy overall picture, a larger lambskin is recommended.

To estimate the size, you can use this formula:

Height of the backrest + Depth of the seat + 10 or 15 cm

The additional 10–15 cm should be included to ensure that the fur drapes loosely and fits well.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend a 90 to 115 cm long fur for classic dining chairs and 110 to 130 cm long furs for chairs with higher backrests.
