Description

This special lambskin for babies comes from New Zealand and offers premium quality. It is particularly dense, soft, and has been gently tanned to be perfectly suited for babies. Ideally suited for use in a stroller.

The lambskin for babies is medically tanned to be odorless, 100% clean, and incredibly soft. Medically tanned also means that the skin can (if necessary) be washed in the washing machine. The medical tanning process gives the skin its yellowish color, which is why a different tanning method is chosen for decorative skins. For a baby lambskin, however, medical tanning is always the best choice.

Like every other skin in our selection, the baby lambskin comes from NATURES Collection, the supplier of the world’s highest quality skins.

The lambskin is clinically tested. This means:

  • Suitable for soft, sensitive baby skin
  • 100% natural
  • Free from harmful substances
  • Temperature-regulating
  • Woolmark certified
  • Odorless

The baby lambskin from Nordic Sheep is Best in Test!

The baby lambskins from Nordic Sheep have been rated "Best in Test." Their warming properties and natural quality, which make it a pleasure to lie on, were particularly highlighted. The baby lambskins are gently tanned without the use of harmful chemicals, so you can let your little treasure sleep and play on them without worry – with no concerns about harmful chemicals or bruises.

Care

A genuine lambskin is easy to care for – this applies especially to the baby lambskin. Because of the natural properties of lambskin, it does not require special care. However, we recommend that you shake out the skin regularly and brush it occasionally.

Stains on the skin can be removed with a damp cloth or a little wool detergent. And if an accident does happen, the lambskin for babies can also be washed in the washing machine. However, we only recommend this in extreme cases, as it can make the leather hard – even with medically tanned skin.

If you choose to machine wash, wash the skin at 30 degrees Celsius with a wool detergent containing lanolin and use the spin cycle.

A genuine lambskin must never be dried in a tumble dryer. Instead, it should dry with the hair facing down on a drying rack in a well-ventilated room or outdoors under a roof. Shape the skin regularly while it is drying and then brush the hair through with a fur brush.

Use

The special lambskin for babies offers a variety of uses. Place it on the floor, for example, to provide your baby with a safe, cozy, and warm play area. Or use it in a high chair or stroller to make those moments even more comfortable.

Determine lambskin size

Probably the most important aspect of this lambskin is that it is temperature-regulating. This lambskin does this naturally. If your baby is too warm, the skin has a cooling effect, and in the cold, the skin will keep the child warm. Lambskin fits perfectly into the stroller, and almost every child has their baby skin until they are older and can pass it on to their own baby. You can find more lambskins suitable for babies here.

Origin

The lambskin for babies is a Merino lambskin and comes from New Zealand. Merino sheep are known for their heavenly soft wool – something that is particularly important in a skin for babies.

In New Zealand, the sheep roam freely through the breathtaking landscape. Under the care of experienced farmers, they always enjoy fresh air and graze freely on mountains and in valleys. This is crucial for the incredible quality of the skins, because only happy animals have beautiful fur.

To ensure this quality, all NATURES Collection skins are treated gently and processed carefully. From their origin in New Zealand to here in Denmark, they are managed exclusively by experts who continuously check and ensure their high quality.

Sustainability

Every skin is a byproduct of local meat production, which makes it inherently sustainable as no additional resources are used for its production. If the skin were not reused, it would have to be disposed of. To avoid this waste, all skins at NATURES Collection are processed as much as possible – out of respect for the animal.

At NATURES Collection, the skins are carefully sorted by quality. Only the best skins are selected and carry the NATURES Collection logo. About 20% of the skins meet these high standards, while the remaining skins are used elsewhere or sold to the industry, often under lower quality standards.

Sustainability is an integral part of the entire production at NATURES Collection. The company's experience has helped reduce water and energy consumption every year. Over 90% of the water is reused, and all water used is completely cleaned before it enters the environment.

The skins are tanned with salts and stored in salt to avoid the use of harmful chemicals. These and many other initiatives ensure that the skins and skin products from NATURES Collection are particularly sustainable. Every skin you find with us carries the NATURES Collection guarantee, which ensures not only the highest quality but also sustainability. Read more about it here.
