2. A real sheepskin looks different

The first tip is particularly useful if you can choose the fur in a physical shop. But as we noted at the beginning of this blog post, many of us are looking for a sheepskin online. And how do you recognise a real sheepskin then?

There are several features you can look out for, but the most important ones are these. Quality sheepskins have very dense fur, while most faux furs cannot imitate this hair density. This is usually already visible directly in the picture. In addition, a real sheepskin has a special sheen that makes the fur look vibrant and natural.

If you find a real sheepskin at a very low price, you should at least be skeptical, as it could be faux fur or real fur of low quality.

Although faux furs often tempt with their low price, you should still think twice before buying them. The cheaper manufacturing method and the fossil materials used in their production, such as petroleum and natural gas, mean that faux furs are anything but good for the environment.
