Description

A "Fell" is a hide. At the same time, "Fell" also refers to the Fjell – the mountain landscape where sheep graze. The word migrated from Old Norse into English and has been preserved in both languages. "Vang" refers to an enclosed meadow. Fellvang is the meadow in the Fjell – and the hide that comes from there.

This hide consists of two whole sheepskins sewn together lengthwise. At 160 cm, it is long enough to be draped over the backrest of a sofa, across the foot of a bed, or along one side of a double bed – without looking like a piece is missing. The long-haired New Zealand wool is smooth, heavy, and can be easily brushed back into shape after an evening on the sofa.

The hides are dyed. This means they are not identical. Each animal has its own wool structure, and this does not disappear during dyeing. The nuances can vary slightly within a single hide, and two pieces of the same color will never look exactly alike. This is what a natural product looks like. And that's exactly the point.

We believe in materials that last. In hides that become more beautiful with age, rather than things that need to be replaced next season.

Colors

  • Champagne — the lightest shade. A creamy beige with a warm hue that goes particularly well with light wood and white walls.

  • Toffee — a subtle taupe. More grey-brown than caramel-colored and particularly uncomplicated in rooms where many colors are already present.

  • Dark Beige — warmer and darker than Champagne, without appearing brown.

  • Coal — a deep steel gray. The only cool tone in the series and the one that stands out most clearly against light furniture.

Specifications

Care

Regularly shake out the hide and brush up the wool with a fur brush if it lies flat. Do not wash in the washing machine.

Dyed hides can fade in direct sunlight. Therefore, do not place the hide on a windowsill, in a conservatory, or outdoors if you want the color to last a long time. Even a sunny spot directly by the window can change the color over time.
