The rocking sheep is both a toy and a piece of furniture. The frame is made of pine wood, and the sheep's body is padded with foam and covered with real sheepskin. The pine wood comes from the forests of Sweden and Finland and has traditionally been used in Scandinavian furniture making due to its excellent properties. The sheepskins come from either Iceland or Sweden, where the sheep roam freely with their lambs in clean and untouched nature, which gives the skins their characteristic look.

Povl Kjer designed the first rocking sheep for his niece as a humorous reminder of her rural roots in 1981. The rocking sheep has become known as a Danish design classic and is now sold worldwide.

The Original Rocking Sheep is so durable that it can be used for generations. If a rocking sheep breaks, we will repair it free of charge, no matter its age.
