Care

Lambskins require little care to maintain their original state—and this, of course, also applies to lambskin rugs. Shake the rug out regularly and brush it through about once a week with a fur brush to loosen it up and make it shine. You can also vacuum the pelt on the lowest setting.

Dried-on stains can often be removed with the fur brush. However, it is better to dab "fresh" stains with a damp cloth. Be sure to keep the leather side dry. Do not use any cleaning agents or detergents on your pelt, and do not use scented sprays.

When choosing a suitable place for your fur rug, please note that for dyed pelts, it should not be in direct sunlight. The color can change or fade under the influence of sunlight. It is also a good idea to rotate the rug occasionally so that it wears evenly and does not develop visible pressure marks in certain areas.

The animals from whose fur your rug was sewn were not bred for their fur. At Lammfellhaus, we place great importance on selling only pelts that are a byproduct of meat production. The pelts are produced anyway and would be thrown away if we did not make valuable products from them. In this way, we contribute to ensuring that nothing is wasted when using animals.

Right from the selection of suppliers, we place importance on the fact that the animals are kept in species-appropriate conditions and not killed for their fur. In this way, we support farms while simultaneously having production that is sustainable for the Earth. This also applies to the tanneries where our pelts are treated. They work only with natural tanning agents such as salts, which are environmentally friendly, and also have efficient water consumption, where water is both saved and purified and recycled.
