How do I care for my new cowhide?

A genuine cowhide requires little care, and if you want to preserve its original condition most effectively, you should only follow these three instructions. The most important thing is to regularly shake out your cowhide to remove dust and loose dirt. Given the size of a cowhide, this is, of course, much easier to do with two people.

You can get rid of more stubborn dirt by gently vacuuming the cowhide on the lowest setting. If the dirt is sticky, you can dab it with a damp cloth. Make sure that the leather underside remains dry. Let the cowhide dry thoroughly afterward before putting it back in its place.

After shaking it out, make sure to place the cowhide in a slightly altered position. This way you avoid pressure marks in the hide. It is not a problem if, for example, you place a side table or armchair on the hide. However, make sure that the hide is regularly rotated or the furniture is slightly shifted to prevent permanent pressure marks.
